Lexington, KY –December 16 – God's Pantry Food Bank is pleased to announce the relocation of its Lexington warehouse and administrative offices to a new facility at 2201 Innovation Drive in Lexington, Kentucky. This move represents a transformational step forward in addressing food insecurity for the 265,000 individuals across Central and Eastern Kentucky who rely on us for essential nourishment.
The new 127,232-square-foot facility will provide critical infrastructure needs, enabling the Food Bank to expand from its current capacity of 38.9 million meals (FY 2024) to meet the current demand of 50 million meals and future needs of up to 60 million meals, bringing us closer to our vision of a nourished life for every Kentuckian.
"This move represents a monumental step forward in our ability to meet the growing needs of our community," said Michael Halligan, CEO of God's Pantry Food Bank. "This new facility represents our commitment to reducing hunger in Kentucky Communities and supporting our network of partner agencies across 50counties. With this new facility, we are better positioned to provide healthy food and hope to those who need it most."
The recent building renovation and expansion supports over 500 partner agencies in50 Kentucky counties. The renovated building includes an updated office area, expanded shipping and receiving offices, capacity for a production kitchen, and an improved reception area. The renovation also included the installation of an expanded freezer and cooler space, a produce cooler, and a conditioned receiving dock, all of which will aid in increasing the distribution of fresh, healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy items.
We look forward to welcoming members of the media to our new home for a Grand Opening in Spring 2025.
