In September, you're going to see a LOT of orange around town, in fact, around any towns in Central and Eastern Kentucky! Hold on Wildcat fans, before you get too fired up about THAT ORANGE color, we're talking about GOING ORANGE for #HungerAction! It's for a great cause. September is officially Hunger Action Month and September 4th is Hunger Action Day! So, GO ORANGE to raise awareness about those struggling with hunger in Central and Eastern Kentucky! We know you'll always bleed blue, but orange on the outside won't be so bad for a little while. :)

Our friends at Common Good (at Embrace Church) dropped this off yesterday and we couldn’t help ourselves-we had to share it. God’s Pantry Food Bank and Common Good teamed up this summer to serve over 800 meals at their site! In addition to a nutritious meal, Common Good provides tutoring, mentoring and recreation for the kids. What could be better? Thanks, guys!
In 2014 volunteers donated 47,000 hours of time to God’s Pantry Food Bank! Among the statistics we track is the number of volunteer occurrences and the number of volunteer hours donated to the Food Bank. The 2014 hours represent a 57% increase over last year’s figure.
