Volunteer

God's Pantry Food Bank relies on donations of both food and money to operate our programs. Of equal importance are the volunteers who make invaluable contributions of time and energy. In fact, more than 6,000 volunteers donated 25,475 hours of their time last year to support our missions to reduce hunger.

God's Pantry Food Bank utilizes volunteers to staff pantry sites, sort food drive donations, repack bulk food product, suport special events, take referrals for clien ts in need of food assistance, help at Kids Cafe locations, assist with our annual Client Survey, help with mailings, and deliver food boxes to satellite pantry programs in other counties.

We are committed to finding a volunteer opportunity that is right for you. Please click on the links below to find detailed information about each opportunity. Then, let us know how you'd like to serve by contacting the staff person listed on each page, or by completing the general interest form at the bottom of this page.  Also, visit our FAQ for volunteers page, this may answer most of your questions about volunteering in our warehouse!

  • If you are a family looking to volunteer with your children:
Please consider participating in one of our monthly Family Days, held on the first Saturday morning of every month. We sort food drive donations before they’re delivered to our emergency food pantries here in Lexington. Don’t worry – this is a safe, fun, and engaging activity. The entire family will leave feeling proud of the work you accomplished as well as the tangible difference you made in the lives of our clients.  For more questions about families and children volunteering in our warehouse, please click here.
