God’s Pantry Food Bank Announces Summer Food Service Program

School may be taking a summer holiday but hunger doesn’t. God’s Pantry Food Bank is working to make sure that no children in Fayette County go hungry while school is closed this summer by participating in the US Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). 

The Summer Food Service Program is the largest federal resource available for local programs that combine mealtime with recreational and educational activities.

Chill Out at God’s Pantry Food Bank’s Prestonsburg Regional Distribution Center

Upgrades to the cooler and freezer at God’s Pantry Food Bank’s Prestonsburg Regional Distribution Center will increase availability of fresh and frozen foods to more than 120 food relief programs in at least nine Eastern Kentucky counties including Floyd, Letcher, Johnson, Martin, Magoffin, Pike, Perry, Knott and Lawrence.

Award Winners from Taste of the Bluegrass announced!

The finest food and drinks in Central Kentucky were represented this past weekend at the 33rd Annual Taste of the Bluegrass, presented by God’s Pantry Food Bank.  Winners were selected in nine categories in both a Judges’ Best and a People’s Choice vote.

The 33rd Annual Taste of the Bluegrass was a complete SUCCESS!

May 17th, 2013, the 33rd Annual Taste of the Bluegrass was held in Keeneland’s Keene Barn & Entertainment Center, featuring a “who’s who” of restaurants, caterers, bakeries, beverage purveyors, and guests. We've set more records in table sales, ticket sales and overall attendees and the crowd of supporters left after a great night of sampling the best food, drink and music that Central Kentucky has to offer!
