God’s Pantry Food Bank is extremely fortunate to be the benefiting organization for many other events in Lexington and throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. Below you will find information about events that benefit the food bank and are scheduled in the coming weeks and months. • The Bluegrass Feeding Frenzy

The Bluegrass Parrot Head Club is celebrating its 15th year of community service and fellowship in the Central Kentucky area. Over 150 members meet regularly and plan charity activities that benefit 12 to 15 organizations each year. Members combine their passionate love of Jimmy Buffett music and Island theme regalia to work untiringly for local and regional charities. Over the years, the Club has contributed over $500,000 in cash and services to over 50 different charitable causes. Their 10th anniversary party raised over $15,000 alone for two charities.

This year’s anniversary celebration, at the Holiday Inn North in Lexington, like those in the past, invites Parrot Heads, island-lovers and all with a giving heart to come and participate in a two-day event sharing their sandal-clad, grass skirt and coconut bikini culture as friends unite to party with a purpose. The group expects 400 people from multiple states and our local area. Members, friends and the general public are welcome to participate in this fun event. The party features a potluck pool party with live band Saturday afternoon, and closes with hors d’oeuvres, a stage band event and table decorating contest and much more on Saturday night. The party is festive. Silent auctions and drawings allow attendees to contribute to the charitable cause. This year’s event is dedicated to God’s Pantry Food Bank.

Raffle tickets for a travel trip voucher for two (value $2,500) will be given. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 apiece, and no more than 3,000 tickets will be sold.

So dig out your floral shirts and grass skirts and get ready to Party with a Purpose!
